Leduc 0.22 Ramjet Fighter Makes a Cool Attempt at Mach 2 Speeds with Ramjet Power. The French take a bold approach by designing a mach 2 fighter using a ramjet as its primary power source. Unfortunately, they fail to incorporate Whitcomb's Area Rule, resulting in excessive drag that limits the aircraft's speed to just mach 1. Development is halted when the French opt for the Mirage 3 instead. The cockpit placement, with its all-glass surroundings, appears to be quite uncomfortable for pilots. The model of this fighter jet has been created in full dimensions using Blender 2.79b and scaled down to 1/100 for the STL file. In preparation for printing, it is reduced to 35% of its original size in a slicer. For reference, the dice used are 15mm in size. As always, if the design cannot be printed successfully, it will not be posted.
