LEDDMS - RGB LED Dungeon Master Screen
thingiverse
This is my MK1 RGB LED illuminated DM (or GM/Marshal) screen. I created this primarily as an opportunity for a friend to learn about programming microcontrollers, Arduinos, ESPs and similar devices, but it also served as a Secret Santa gift using leftover materials from other projects. After posting this on reddit, I noticed that many people were interested in making their own illuminated DM screens. The DnD maps used for etching the panels pictured were made possible by Dyson Logos' excellent work. Please note that these files are not included and you should seek permission to use them or add your own artwork to the dxf files for etching/cutting. I plan on creating a MK2 with improved models and an Instructable article explaining how to assemble this project, add artwork to the sketches, and wire and code it. For now, here are the required materials: * 4mm Acrylic Sheet * 3mm MDF Sheet * 40 cable ties * 6 M5 25mm hex socket cap bolts * 1 RGB LED strip with approximately 72 LEDs (I used an APA102c strip) * 1 Microcontroller (I used a Nodemcu loaded with Micropython) * Some 22awg wire to connect the LED strips together * Cable sleeving I have no intention of commercializing this project or doing commissions. My goal is to inspire others to create and learn programming skills, as I am already working on several other projects and have very little time.
