LED strip mount for articulating arm
thingiverse
I created this versatile LED strip holder designed specifically to fit onto the end of an articulating arm, a clever solution that can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2153209. This innovative design allows for the placement of two 50x8 mm pieces of LED strip within its indentation, providing ample space for customizing the display. To assemble this ingenious device, I printed the LED holder and the end piece for the arm as separate parts, then skillfully joined them together using a soldering iron and a piece of filament as a filler rod, creating a strong and durable bond. Next, I utilized a 1mm drill to carefully drill through the copper solder pads on the back, allowing for easy threading of cables through the holes. Once threaded, the cables were securely attached to the pads with a reliable solder connection. It's also crucial to remember that the two LED strips must be connected together in order to function properly. To provide an extra layer of protection, I applied a generous amount of hot glue over the LED strips, safeguarding them from potential damage. Finally, I successfully mounted the entire assembly to the bottom of the gantry on my mostly printed CNC machine.
