LED strip desklamp Please note that I will add another base with cable feed through and one where you can add a button. In addition there will be another modular lamp piece. This modular lamp was designed for a simple 12V warm white LED strip, but any other kind that is not wider than 1cm should work just fine. It uses M3 nuts and bolts to connect the pieces. For now you can choose between two types of lamp pieces, two types of arms, and two types of bases. One lamp piece (light_button.stl) has a hole for a little latching button, while the other (light.stl) doesn't have any holes. The first arm piece (arm_hollow5x4mm_hole.stl) is hollow inside, making it easy to run cables through, and the other (arm_solid_recess.stl) only has a recess to glue the cable in place. The base (base_hollow_12x140mm.stl) is 12mm thick, 140mm in diameter, and is hollow inside, while the second one (base_solid_8x140mm.stl) is only 8mm thick, also 140mm in diameter, and is solid. Instructions Needed parts A short piece of LED strip to fit into the lamp part A matching power supply unit that fits your needs At least two M3x18 or M3x20 screws and nuts (metal or plastic work just fine) Cables if you need them Optionally, a latching push button for added functionality Assembly in general Print the parts first. After printing, glue the 20cm piece of LED strip into the lamp part using its adhesive back. Then solder depending on the lamp piece either the cables directly to the terminals of the strip or one wire of your power cable to one terminal of the strip and the other to the button. Make sure to connect the right cable to the right terminal (+ to + and - to -). Next, cut a short cable to go between the button and the strip and solder it in place. Glue the button firmly in place. Now either run down the cable inside the recess and glue it in or feed the wires through the hollow part of the arms. If you chose the hollow base you can put some weight in it through the access hole on the bottom. Once everything is done, plug in your power supply and enjoy your new lamp!
