LED Side Holder
thingiverse
I made something simple for my printer so I can use my lamp for more practical things. The linear guide got in the way of putting LED strips inside the frame, so I came up with this solution. One of these holders fits three 10mm LEDs. The screw holes are designed for M3 screws that are under 10mm long. I connected nine sets of LEDs in parallel - it's just occurring to me now that my goal was actually to connect three LEDs in series and have three parallel sets, which is pretty silly. I then connected them directly to the free FAN1 output on my trigorilla board, hoping nothing gets damaged. I wanted to be able to adjust the LED brightness through the printer's control panel without having to do any programming or editing the code, so I chose this approach. The model doesn't show it, but depending on your print settings, the sides might have two small holes due to the wall being too thin at that spot - I only noticed this after printing three of them. It's not a big deal though. If anyone has a better idea for this or anything else, just let me know and I'll send over the CAD file.
