LED ring mount (100mm)
thingiverse
This is an LED ring mount that works with the Fang cooler for the Ender 3... Fang cooler link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3676132. I designed this because I wanted LEDs all around the print, front and back, sides everywhere. But also it needed to work with the above-linked cooler as that's what I had printed originally. The cooler works great so I thought reprinting a cooler would be a waste just to have to print an LED mount anyway. It has the same print clearance as the cooler. Flip it 90 degrees so its sitting upright like how it would mount. Printed with regular supports. You can print with tree supports but the print may not come out as good, so I printed with regular supports (touching everywhere). It was more difficult to remove but the print was much cleaner. Supports were set to one wall, no floor or roof, in a zig-zag pattern. In hindsight, I should have not had an outer support wall; it would have been easier to remove. The LED ring I used is here: https://www.amazon.com/GrandviewTM-100mm-72SMD-Angel-Headlight/dp/B01CJKG7Y6/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=100mm+led+ring&qid=1566150022&s=gateway&sr=8-8. The solder connections will make the LED sit too low, so you can either retouch the solder and try to smooth it or what I did was heat the plastic of the mount and press the LED into the mount to form it so the LED sits higher. It pokes the rear end of the ring up a little but it still clears the lower roller on the X gantry. You will get two, being it's for a car. It mounts between your hot-end fan and the Fang cooler base. Here is a link to a video of it in action... took the video just before posting this: https://www.facebook.com/mike.vigz/videos/10100529019677620/. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks.
