LED Ring Light

LED Ring Light

This DIY 3D printed lighting rig is an awesome project for any photographer or videographer. It utilizes a compact Adafruit Trinket and high-tech NeoPixel LEDs, making it both portable and battery-powered or plug-and-play with a wall outlet. We previously showcased a ring light build specifically designed for DSLR cameras using a 60 NeoPixel ring. However, this new iteration boasts RGBW type NeoPixels, offering superior lighting quality compared to the previous model's RGB LEDs. The key difference lies in the dedicated white light emitted by RGBW NeoPixels, which produces a more accurate color temperature and reduces reddish hue on skin tones often seen with RGB LEDs. This results in a more natural-looking outcome for your photos and videos. By combining individual RGB colors, you can create white light, but it doesn't quite capture the same level of realism as dedicated white lighting. Your smartphone securely attaches to the 3D printed bumper, providing an excellent solution for illuminating your front-facing camera.
