LED ring for milling machine
thingiverse
I illuminate my milling machine tool with a circle of LEDs. The design utilizes 24 individual LEDs, grouped into 8 parallel strips with each strip containing 3 LEDs connected in series with a single 200-ohm resistor to effectively utilize the available power. Powering these lights is straightforward using standard 12-volt equipment. Users may modify the array configuration to suit their preferences. To keep my ring LED fixture securely attached atop the drill column, I employ strong magnets anchored firmly by a dab of super glue. This decorative component was printed using ABS material. White plastic would be a better choice for improved aesthetics, allowing the vibrant colors of the LEDs to truly shine through. Included are two STL files, each compatible with either 5mm or 3mm LED models, as displayed in these accompanying photos featuring the 5mm variant.
