This is a custom-designed LED ring intended for use on a microscope. External measurements were copied from another LED ring I received with my analogue microscope, resulting in an internal diameter of 60mm. I utilize a modified LM2596 CC/CV module to generate a constant current source. The modification entails cutting the current measurement trace on the PCB and replacing it with a low-ohm power resistor to reduce the maximum allowed current output of the LM2596 module. Additionally, I replaced the current adjustment 10k trim potentiometer with a panel-mounted type, allowing me to easily adjust the current supplied to the LEDs. Other components used include 3D printed parts, 60 pieces of 5mm LEDs, and an LM2596 CC/CV module. Six countersunk M3x8 screws and one button head M3x5mm screw were employed to secure the LM2596 module in place. The main body of the LED ring requires support material since I wanted to add a chamfer to separate the LED bodies further. LEDs are designed to slide into holes that are keyed, ensuring all LEDs are oriented in the same direction.
