Just updated the part cooling duct on my CR-10S Pro from Hero Me 4020 single fan to 5015 dual fan. A great benefit beside better part cooling is a better view to the hotend nozzle.

So I designed this LED mount specifically for HERO ME 5015 dual fan duct, it's easy attachable to the link bar between dual fans.

2020/05/05 Update

LED mount for Hero Me Gen4 please go to: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4339415

2020/04/13 Update

V4 diffuser

2020/04/08 Update

V3 diffuser, more mounting arms for better stability.

2020/04/03 Update

The tightness of V2 doesn't last long, just day 2 it came loose, and falling off is inevitable. So just tie it up with straps anyways.

What else do you need to install:

LED strip x1: 5630-168 dual row, dimension 38x12mm per unit. 6 LEDs in 12V, bright enough to lit the print

Cable tie/tie strap: 2mm or 3mm wide, x1 or x2. OPTIONAL for V2

V1 - the original design

LED bar mount: the initial design

Easy to install, supposed to be snap-fit, but due to the heat generated from the LED, if print in PLA, it will lose the tightness and come off eventually. That's why you need straps to secure, just tie the straps along the designated channel. Still, the PLA part will be deformed a little bit along the tightened straps due to the heat and force.

I haven't tried ABS or PETG (or other high-temp materials), theoretically if the material has higher heat resistance, the part could be perfectly fit without straps.

Light diffuser cap

Print in transparent or semi-transparent material, SUPPORT needed. It is designed to diffuse the LED light, in order to make the illumination a little bit softer. It's totally an optional part.

It might be also affected by the heat, if it get warped, it might become loose and come off.

V2 - improvement

LED bar mount with longer snap leg

Snap-fit very tight, but still becomes loose due to the heat, but won't come off. Use straps to secure it if needed.

Light diffuser V2

Adjusted for V2 mount, curved surface to fit in tightened straps. Print in transparent or semi-transparent material, SUPPORT needed.

If you have high temp material, please consider use them primarily instead of PLA, heat resistance matters a lot. The perfect situation is strap-free, but with straps it will be definitely secured.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

CR10S PRO

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Notes:

the optional light diffuser NEED supports

Category: 3D Printer Accessories
