LED mount for extruder
thingiverse
This LED mount fits perfectly on an MK7 extruder like the one found on a Folger 2020 printer. To assemble, simply attach the light holder and one of the clips provided. The holder boasts three holes designed specifically for white LEDs (approximately 3V each), which should be connected in series with a 220 ohm resistor. Once complete, you can connect this entire setup to a standard 12V power supply. There are two clips included, both of which attach securely to the small metal piece of the screw holding the fan in place at the bottom of the heat sink. One clip points straight down, while the other sticks out slightly and then directs the light back into the nozzle at an angle. Although the pieces fit together loosely, a small shim made from rubber placed where the clips attach to the fan screw and between the clip and holder provides sufficient friction. The angled clip could benefit from being repositioned so that it shines light closer to the nozzle's location. As it stands, the brightest spot is currently positioned to the right of the nozzle.
