Macro ring flashes are pricey, that's why this design is tailored for the Nikkor 60mm micro. It relies on 9 LEDs grouped into three sets of three LEDs in a serial setup, allowing it to run smoothly with a single 9V battery without any resistors. Each arm can be adjusted to create deliberate shadows if needed. The LEDs are strategically positioned inside and outside each arm, straight and angled to focus on the minimum focus distance.
