LED Low Poly Masquerade Mask
thingiverse
This is my third remake of the original low poly mask, and I made significant improvements. Upon opening in MakerBot Desktop, you may notice a strange orientation, but don't worry, it's just because I didn't account for a larger build volume back then. This time around, you'll need to use both a raft and support. If you have access to a bigger printer, download the Masquerade_flat.stl file, as it requires way less support than this one does. Enjoy! Print Settings Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 5% Notes: * I never printed the Masquerade_flat.stl since I made the original over a year ago and only intended it as a quick project for myself. * My only printer at the time was an older Replicator. Post-Printing LED Wiring: I used adafruits.com's Diffused 5mm Slow Fade Flashing RGB LEDs. They're perfect for beginners since they don't require any coding skills. For resistor selection and LED placement, refer to the wiring diagram above. If you want to use a different power source or lights, check out http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz. LEDs: http://www.adafruit.com/products/679 Steps: - Before proceeding, ensure that the LEDs fit perfectly in place since PLA has a tendency to warp. - Once you're confident about their placement, use a fast-drying adhesive to glue them into position. - Next, solder the LEDs with their associated resistors according to the diagram provided. -To connect the mask to your battery pack, I used a male/female DC Connector Size: Out-side diameter 5.5mm, In-side diameter 2.1mm. This wire can be attached to the left edge of the mask using adhesive. A silicone sealant was applied around all exposed LED leads and wire for an added level of protection.Disclaimer: Please note that I make no claims that this mask is safe to wear due to electrical risks involved. You are responsible for any injuries caused by electrical shock while using this project. Please print responsibly!
