This LED light system optimally illuminates the printer bed for precise examination during printing. It features (6) 3V, 20mA LEDs angled to focus on the bed. The design aligns with the Aluminum Mendel's sleek concept, keeping wires and components within the frame area. Wires are concealed in aluminum grooves, and the switch is located at the back right corner without hindering y-axis bed travel. Attaching the system to the frame prevents excessive weight and wiring on the extruder carriage, enhancing print quality and reducing vibrations. To install, print LED brackets and backs, solder LEDs with 150 ohm resistors, glue backs together, and mount brackets on upright posts. The switch plate showcases two colors for aesthetic appeal and demonstrates the potential of multi-colored prints. Parallel circuits connect three LEDs and a resistor to a single-pull double-throw switch, which can be wired directly into the 12V power supply. The minimal energy consumption of LED lights ensures clear visibility of printed object details.
