Lots of LED options available, none of them suitable for parts I had lying around, most required a trip to... IKEA. No. My setup utilizes a 10mm flexible LED strip originally designed for TVs, cut down to about 10 inches and plugged into a USB battery. This arrangement draws approximately 200mA. The LED strip lights up from the front at a subtle ~15 degree angle, just enough to avoid shining directly in your eyes. It's surprisingly effective - additional side and rear lighting didn't make a significant difference, so I opted for this single strip with about 5 LEDs on it. Post-Printing To secure the LED strip, I stiffened it using http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:536648 and designed my part to accommodate its insertion. The fit is not tight, as it's meant to be easy to remove if needed. A small piece of tape was applied to the inside of the strip after insertion to prevent it from coming loose. To keep the USB cables in place, I used http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1740833 to fasten them down to the frame.
