I'm currently using this light bar that I made, which outputs a good deal more light to the print bed. This is based on my previous creation of an LED Light Strip mount for your Printrbot Simple Metal. It holds two strips of LED Light Strips and rests above the Extruder plate with secure hangovers in the back. I installed it according to the instructions, which are similar to my other LED Light Strip creations. I used SMD5050 LED Light Strips such as the ones found on Amazon. The 50ish-mm wide strip is right about the length of a 3-LED strip piece at the cut section. To assemble it, I ran some wire and wired it up to my power supply, which is an ATX style. You can also use a different power supply if you prefer. My second creation in SketchUp was a bit rough since I've only been modeling for about a day now. The design fit my Printrbot Simple Metal perfectly without any cleanup or corrections. I printed it with Hatchbox 1.75mm PLA, 0.3mm resolution, and 15% infill. Supports Touching Buildplate in Cura was also used.
