Led light for Vertex K8400

This is an addition to the vertex k8400 3D printer installed to the extruder's board centrifugal fan. The extra fan duct helps reduce noise while printing, and it provides additional illumination with its bright light. Note that this installation may limit Y axes travel by about 22 mm, a restriction comparable to that of the previously installed extra fan duct. The led light is easily sourced in Sweden at http://www.biltema.se/sv/Bygg/Belysning-och-lampor/LED/LED-lampa-G4-2000032634/. It's probably sold worldwide as a standard component. The other components required for this installation are: 1 M4 screw, 25 mm in length 1 M4 self-locking nut 2 lengths of electrical wire (0.2 mm2), each about 80-100 mm long Bend the led light connectors at a right angle upward, trim them to about 5 mm, and solder the two wires together. It appears that the polarity doesn't matter in this case. Gently snap-fit the led light into its printed case, pushing the cables through the exit hole in the case. You may want to add a small dab of hot glue for extra security; however, I didn't need any glue since the surface of the case is rough enough to hold it in place, and you can also use some tension with the two connection's pins. Connect the cables to the vertical centrifugal fan and tighten the screw gently so that you can still tilt the light with a bit of pressure. I kept mine horizontal just enough to clear the structure of the printer when Y travel limit is reached. Enjoy the light!
