LED Light for 20x20 Extrusion
prusaprinters

This is an enclosure for mounting LED lights on aluminum t-slotted extrusion, with the intended application being to illuminate the build platform of a 3D printer. Mine is a TAZ 6, but it should work well with any that has a framework constructed out of aluminum extrusion (either 20x20 or 10 series).

The original design may be found here: https://a360.co/2zURIVr

You will need LED lights, a switch, a voltage adjuster and a DC power connector. This is what I used:

LED lights: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EKMIVI2/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=ksadesigns-20&linkId=1ba19e0bbaa38601dc2aeacb3aa5098b (2 for $9)

Switch: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EKMIVI2/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=ksadesigns-20&linkId=1ba19e0bbaa38601dc2aeacb3aa5098b (10 for $8)

Voltage controller: http://tinyurl.com/ydgjy6yr (2 for $9)

DC power plug connector: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EKMIVI2/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=ksadesigns-20&linkId=1ba19e0bbaa38601dc2aeacb3aa5098b (10 for $7)

So you can get a decent light for about $16 in parts and plastic.

It's a tight fit and the blades on the switch will have to be bent. There is also a little bit of soldering involved. Use double sided tape to secure the lights inside their recesses. Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions.
Category: 3D Printer Accessories
