LED Light Bracket for Dept 56 House
thingiverse
I dreaded having to bundle the 120v cords for our Department 56 Christmas village, always worrying it was a fire hazard waiting to happen. To put my mind at ease, I designed this bracket to replace the original setup. I added a 12v LED light (https://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/mega-led.html) with goop glue and connected everything securely. For a seamless look, I used thin 28 gauge wire that blends in perfectly with our village scene. I came up with four designs to choose from. Initially, I created the large with neck design, but when I noticed some of the holes in the village were smaller than expected, I adapted it into the small with neck design. As I assembled everything, I realized the neck was placing the light a bit too high in the houses, so I designed two new versions without necks – and I'm actually glad I did, as they're faster to print and work just as well.
