LED Lamp for PRUSA MK3
thingiverse
I downloaded a set of LED lamps from Thingiverse www.thingiverse.com/thing:2055511 to upgrade my former MK2s. The results were impressive, but the lights were mounted too high and the print head casted harsh shadows. With my new MK3 printer, I could easily attach accessories to the frame, so I designed a basic LED lamp for it. The Bill of Materials (BOM) for two LEDs is as follows: * Printed parts: + 2 x LED Holder Plate + 2 x LED Holder Pivot + 2 x End Pivot + 8 x Middle Pivot * Aluminum tubes: 4 pieces, each 100mm long and 8mm in diameter (you can experiment with different lengths) * T-Nut M4: 2 pieces (from ebay) * Screws: + 2 x M4 x 10 for attaching the main pivot to the frame + 6 x M4 x 20 for the pivots * Nuts: 6 x M4 * I'm switching to wing nuts, which I ordered from ebay * Car LED lights with 48 SMD LEDs each, measuring 60x40 mm (available on ebay) * Cable with a minimum of 0.5mm² cross-sectional area; I used speaker cables as a temporary solution The Car LED lights can be purchased here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-12V-Car-48-SMD-LED-Light-Panel-T10-Festoon-Ba9s-Dome-Map-Interior-Bulbs-White-/201862140451 Each light is incredibly bright, and I managed to get a 10-pack for under 12 EUR including shipping.
