LED heat sink soldering jig
thingiverse
I had to solder numerous LED heat sink boards for my project. Not wanting to spend $5 each on assembled units, I decided to do it myself. I purchased a batch of these LEDs, a batch of these heat sinks, added some thermal compound and assembled them individually. After completing a few and messing up a couple, I realized that something was needed to hold the boards in place so I could work more efficiently. I quickly designed this and thought it might be useful for someone else. One is designed for a 3x3 array so you can do multiple units at the same time, while the other is for single-unit assembly. I would print them in ABS or polycarbonate to make them more durable with heat. The sides are square so you can easily mount the jig in a vise.
