LED Headtracker
thingiverse
This is a specially designed LED-mount for IR-LEDs that clips onto your headset perfectly. The SFH 485 P LEDs fit snugly into their designated slots, making it easy to assemble in no time. In my case, everything snapped right into place without any issues. The adhesive tape visible in the photos serves as a cable management tool, keeping things tidy and organized. I power mine with a single 9V battery, but normal AA batteries would likely provide even more energy-efficient performance. You might consider adding a dedicated holder for them inside the LED-mount to maximize space usage. There's also a designated spot for an on/off switch, which adds an extra layer of convenience. To keep everything in place, I employed velcro straps, but made sure to drill some holes for zip-ties as well, just in case. The overall design is quite sturdy and robust, with a substantial thickness that gives it a reassuring feel. When building this project, I relied on the established OpenTrack measurements to ensure accuracy and precision throughout the entire process.
