A flashlight, often referred to as a torch in areas outside North America, is an easily portable handheld electric light. It generally uses either an incandescent bulb or LED for illumination. The primary components include a bulb housed within a reflector, a protective transparent cover (sometimes combined with a lens), a battery, and a switch. All these elements are securely held together within a sturdy case.
