LED Disc Golf Light
thingiverse
This is a custom LED light designed specifically for night disc golfing. I built this unit so that I can play my favorite game in total darkness. To use it, we attach the light to a standard disc golf basket and then adhere an LED to a coin cell battery, placing it securely on top of our discs. This way, we can easily track where each disc lands. The LED light consists of 12 individual LEDs, carefully wired together for maximum brightness. Each set of three LEDs is connected in series to a reliable 9-volt power source - six AAA batteries provide the necessary voltage. The four sets of LEDs are then connected in parallel with one another, ensuring that the entire system functions seamlessly. For added security, the LED leads are carefully twisted and soldered together through pre-drilled holes in the LED ring. A protective cover conceals all wire connections, keeping them safe from damage. To hold everything securely in place, we use ceramic magnets glued directly into the LED ring. Meanwhile, a powerful neodymium magnet keeps our battery pack firmly attached to the steel disc golf basket. Despite the dark surroundings, this light produces just enough illumination for us to spot the basket easily - and the pictures don't do it justice! If you need even more brightness, simply add three extra AAA batteries (totaling 12 volts) for increased luminosity.
