Led Clip
cults3d
This is a clip led light suitable for books mainly. I made this for my daughter who is always complaining about not having enough light for reading... It uses two small button-type batteries for powering the leds. To make the flexible stick I used a piece of 4 mm copper wire and "converted" it into bipolar taking 5 copper threads out and replacing them with a single insulated one from a standard UTP-5. You will need some WD-40 and quite a bit of patience to slide the new wire...but it is doable. With one of the exracted threads I made the connector of both batteries, rolling both endings. For the hinge I used an office pin with stripped out tip. You can personalize some text to apper in front of the clip. You will need to edit the FreeCad model and change the text of "ShapeString" object (which belongs to the "Clip" part). You will also need to select a valid font from your filesystem. FCStd and STL files are provided (the latter with a "Name" text, though). For the moment it lacks of a usable on-off switch (quite a detail, uh?). I am working on it and will update thing as soon is finished. More pictures and finished model comming soon.
