LED Christmas Tree w/Color
thingiverse
This is a variation of the original LED Christmas Tree from Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1406). I added a photo showing an opaque green tree with clear filament lights lit up - it looks pretty cool! To add color to my tree, I drilled holes and inserted various colored filament. The hole was made smaller than the diameter of the filament so that it wouldn't fall out. My filament measures 0.068 inches, but I used a #51 drill bit (0.067 inches) for drilling. Next, I cut one end of the filament at an angle, then flattened the other end and melted the exposed tip with a heat gun to give it a shiny appearance. Then, I pulled the angled end through the hole and trimmed it flush. To complete my project, I used a LED Tea Light from Dior (2 packs). Feel free to use one of the following objects or come up with your own remix - have fun!
