I recently completed one of my first functional projects to test how well I could assemble components without using glue, and I'm thrilled with the results - once assembled, it's surprisingly difficult to disassemble. The LED ring comes from Adafruit (https://www.adafruit.com/product/1586), and it's controlled by an Arduino nano (https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/ArduinoNano).
