LED Backlit Desktop Sign (Example: Fiesta ST Silhouette)

This experiment aimed to determine if it's feasible to 3D print an LED backlit sign. The outcome is quite impressive in low-light conditions, but the light fails to travel up the rear as I had envisioned. The Fiesta ST silhouette showcases what could be displayed, and it stands at a thickness of 1.1mm. To illuminate the lightpipe, 150mm of 60 LED/m RGB LED strip is utilized, controlled by an affordable controller from eBay. A NeoPixel strip with a compatible controller would also work well in this setup. The power connector is a 2.1mm DC socket featuring an 8mm body diameter and is widely available on eBay. If you believe you can enhance the way light travels up the rear, feel free to remix this design and share your improvements! Build Guidance: * The Lightpipe Back and Support are printed from transparent PLA, while the Fiesta Silhouette and Base Top and Bottom are produced from black PLA. * Both the Lightpipe Support and Base Top require support. Refer to the pictures for printing guidance on these parts. * The Lightpipe Back is securely bonded into the Lightpipe Support using superglue. * The LED strip is fixed to the lightpipe support with hot-melt glue. * Double-sided tape was used to attach the Fiesta ST silhouette, allowing for easy replacement if needed. * The Base Bottom is secured to the Base Top using two 3x12mm wood screws. * It's recommended to add a fuse inline with the DC socket for safety.
