Leather knife protection - 3D Maker tool - Cut
thingiverse
This tiny safeguard for my prized printer tool keeps me safe from harm when printing parts, and I've learned that lesson the hard way with several nasty cuts on my hands already. That's because this tool is super sharp, making it perfect for cutting through supports and other delicate materials. To use this tool safely, you must wear good gloves at all times - it's a crucial precaution to avoid any accidents. When printing parts like these, I highly recommend printing them vertically with support only in the cantilever area. This will help prevent any issues with supports inside the piece. Alternatively, you can print it the same way. To secure this tool firmly in place, glue a small magnet inside and attach it as shown in the accompanying photo. You can easily find these tools for under € 5 at most online stores, where they're often marketed as leather knives or cutters. As always, I've included the FreeCad file so you can modify it to suit your needs.
