You can splurge on an overpriced wooden burnisher or create one yourself. After trying both methods, I couldn't distinguish any difference. To achieve the desired look, simply continue to apply water lightly to the leather's edge and rub it gently with this tool until you're satisfied. This tool was designed for use with a drill, but I've found that hand rubbing is more predictable and effective.
