Low poly hero asset creation for games involves a multi-step process. I began by modeling a base mesh for the high poly model inside MODO, then imported it into zbrush where I refined proportions and sculpted secondary forms like wrinkles and folds. Next, I simulated the pillow and blanket in Marvelous designer and further detailed them in zbrush. After that, I exported both the highest and lowest polygon levels to create a low poly version by reducing the polygon count. To ensure optimal texture quality, I used a combination of MODO's and maya tools to bake UVs and save texture space. I created separate UV sheets for the chair and other objects so they can be reused in future projects without deformation issues. Finally, I baked the textures inside Xnormal and applied them using photoshop, previewing shading with toolbag to ensure accurate color representation.
