I've been using a Leapfrog printer for ages, and I'm always frustrated by the dual extruders that limit me from fully utilizing the build plate. That's why I decided to upgrade it - this modification maximizes the usable size of the build platform. This is only the bearing blocks and the X carriage; more parts like the extruder, new firmware are available on www.myminifactory.com/users/Teneopreto. The new build volume is 278 by 335 by 576 millimeters, with a height of -1.4 centimeters. You'll need four new slide bearings, IGUS RJUM-01-12; an E3D V5 hotend; and a new firmware file to flash into the controller. Additionally, you'll require a longer X-axis timing belt and 3mm threaded rod. Make sure to cut a notch in the left-hand front-bearing mount for the Y-axis and use a smaller end bearing on the right-hand bearing block. Also, use the end chain for the power chain on the X-axis carriage to avoid jamming when printing in the rear right-hand corner of the printer.
