Leapfrog Creatr - Fan (re)mount
thingiverse
I was determined to redirect the air flow for better print cooling on the Leapfrog Creatr. The problems I experienced with melting prints, caused by hot air trapped under the nozzle, led me to seek out a solution. This design presented itself as a significant improvement over my previous attempts, resulting in excellent prints that showed notable signs of quality improvement. By focusing both the airflow on the cooling and incoming filament (originally the purpose for which fans were installed), I was able to optimize performance significantly. To achieve this setup, I utilized 2 adjustable blocks mounted where fans typically are placed. Then I securely attached the fans outside of the metal casing using wood screws. At the same time, I also used these screws to attach the air-blocks together in unison. An important consideration: note that print volume is decreased by +/-40 mm due to this setup change. Update - New Model Design Introduced - Version 2.2 Left and Right Fan Mounts are available. I am Sander, the designer behind this innovative 3D print creation.
