LEAP mount for Oculus DK2
thingiverse
This mount positions the LEAP above the Oculus at an angle down towards users' hands. It's ideal when you need data from the LEAP while allowing users to maintain forward vision through the Oculus. However, be aware that differences between perceived and actual viewpoints between the Oculus and LEAP with this configuration are substantial in terms of both position and orientation. Feeding the LEAP's view directly into the Oculus' display can cause visual discomfort for the user. I built upon user Irah's design, adjusting its dimensions to fit the LEAP more snugly. Perhaps the tightness was due to plastic material or printer limitations. Alternatively, it could be an issue specific to this prototype. In comparison to a two-piece design, this model features all components in one single piece with native orientation. While longer print times result from this approach, it produces a stronger and more flexible structure. I highly recommend using raft and support options during the printing process.
