LEAP mount for Oculus DK2

LEAP mount for Oculus DK2

This mount places the LEAP more or less directly in front of users' eyes, making it the ideal choice for passing visual data from the device straight to the Oculus' display due to minimal differences between perceived and actual viewpoints. A slight tweaking of user Irah's model has resulted in revised dimensions for the LEAP, which were previously too tight. These new dimensions were found by stretching them out until they fit, and it may just be a matter of using different plastic and printers that was holding back the design. Notably, this single piece is native to its orientation, whereas separate pieces would have required longer print times but would not have been as strong or flexible in result. Using a raft and supports for printing makes sense due to its complex structure. The final design comes from Chris Harrison of Ball State University's IDIA Lab. Use both raft and support options, and print the mount in the same orientation shown here. Although it may take longer than flat, this approach yields a much stronger and cleaner piece.
