League of Legends Ward
thingiverse
This is an old school League of Legends ward design that breaks down into multiple pieces for easier printing and color selection. It was printed using my Wanhao Duplicator i3 with Hatchbox Glow in the Dark-Blue PLA filament, then painted to complete the look. When kept stationary, the separate parts stay securely in place without glue, but it's a good idea to apply some adhesive if you plan on frequently handling the model. Print Settings: Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20% Notes: You will need to print two wings, as only one is included in the file. Post-Printing: Optional: Painting I used spray paint for my ward, applying a primer coat first, followed by two layers of paint with an hour's drying time between each application. While it may not be as visually appealing as printing in multiple colors, this method works well if you don't have access to the original color filaments. Design Process: This design was created entirely within Solidworks, with reference to a picture of a ward found on Google Images for accuracy and inspiration.
