Self-Watering Assistant for Notifications Are you tired of cluttered office desks and constant distractions from notifications? Do you crave clean lines and nature-inspired decor that fosters productivity? We present the self-watering notification planter, a revolutionary device that brings harmony to your workspace. This innovative solution seamlessly integrates beauty with functionality, keeping you informed of important notifications without interrupting your workflow. Basics The self-watering notification planter is designed to keep you in the loop without compromising focus. With its sleek design and subtle glow, this device lights up one of five bands of RGB LEDs when specific notifications arrive. The soft illumination is visible from 360 degrees around, ensuring you stay informed whether you're working at your desk or meeting with colleagues across the room. Users can personalize their experience by assigning colors to each type of notification (email, social media, etc.) and designating specific colors for individuals or groups (such as family members or friends). This feature enables prioritization and streamlined communication. For those who want to know the contents of a notification, an eInk screen version is available. This flexible display features a black and white readout that presents the notification's content for up to one minute (or longer!), minimizing distractions and maintaining your workflow. Customizations The self-watering planter boasts five bands of lights embedded in its white base, which houses all necessary electronics. These bands can be linked to five different notification types (work email, personal email, text messages, social media, priority text messages). This allows users to identify high-priority messages that stand out from the rest. Thanks to Adafruit NeoPixel RGB LED strips, users can select from an array of colors or choose a single color for all notifications. The self-watering planter can be ordered with or without the eInk screen, providing flexibility and customization options. Fine Details Notification Center Design The notification center is designed to keep electronics watertight and contained within a waterproof reservoir below the planter's water basin. Inside this compartment lies a series of Adafruit Neopixel LED strips connected to an Arduino at the bottom. The LeafLink can be powered via USB or built with a lithium-polymer battery and Bluetooth connectivity for complete portability. Planter Design The top of the planter accommodates a small 2-3 inch plant, while the water reservoir requires weekly checks. The electronics connect to the water basin through threading in the 3D printed design, ensuring a watertight seal. The three parts can be printed in various colors, although a white base is recommended for a sleek look.
