Leaf Rake (fully functional)

Leaf Rake (fully functional)

It seemed that no one had yet created a 3D-printable leaf-rake that was at least as good if not better than a store-bought one. ∼So, here's my first attempt at one! *Features:* • Width = ±42cm(/16.5"). • x24 tines, ±10cm(/4") long. • Heavy-duty and reliable, even in PLA. • Tines printed on their sides for superior strength. • All components are individually replaceable. *Parts to 3D-Print:* • x24 Tines. • x1 Left Top Plate. • x1 Right Top Plate (-with PLA Symbol if using PLA filament). • x3 Bottom Plates. • x1 Connector that will match the diameter of your handle/shaft. *Other Required Parts:* • x6 16mm(/5/8"), M4(/#8-32) bolts (-preferably stainless steel). • x4 25mm(/1"), M4(/#8-32) bolts (-use stainless steel). • x10 M4(/#8-32), locking nuts (-come on, man, use *stainless steel).* • x20+ M4(/#8-32) washers (-STAINLESS. -STEEL). • x1 ±120cm(/48") long, wooden or metal handle, Ø=±16-28mm(/±5/8-1&1/8"). • x1 screw, Ø=±5mm(/3/16") (-For attaching to the handle.) (-Length depends on the handle.) (-Make sure to use a washer with this screw if the screw's head is not flat at the bottom. In other words, a cone-shaped head might split-open the plastic as it is tightened into place. -Not good.) *Printer, Material, and Skill Requirements:* • A 3D-printer (FDM) with a min. print-bed size of 175x175x135mm (XYZ). • ±400g(?) filament, preferably something biodegradable. • Ability to drill a small hole in the wooden or metal handle for attaching. *Description:* 3D-printing has tremendous, positive potential. It offers people a growing capacity to bypass the for-profit, globalized marketplace for their tools/products. In this spirit, I designed this simple, completely free(/open-source), leaf rake. And I will continue to design along these lines….. If you print this rake, let me know how it goes(!) (-consider posting a "Make"). Also, if you have any questions, criticisms, and/or any engineering/design tips, please don't hesitate to share your thoughts below. *I would like to improve this design.* I will almost certainly make an updated(/lighter?) version (or versions) of this rake later on. -There's always room for improvement. -Thank you for looking! ∼Peace.
