Lead screw mounting point V2.0 (MPCNC compatible)
thingiverse
UPDATED !!! This model is a Solidworks redesign/remix of IE_z_motor_mount_10mm_longer_25mm. The nut holder has two flavors; use the "edit" one when things don't fit. Previous model didn't fit on the MPCNC, so I added 4mm to the backplate of the lead screw nut holder. Therefore, also the motormount needed an update. The lead screw needs two M3 x 30mm, four or eight M3 x 20mm. I added this extra nut to get rid of most of the slack; the two M3 x 30mm are put in place so the nut is on the lead screw holder side. I used Allen wrench bolts, so you can tighten them under an angle if you have ones with a little ball on one side. There are three models to download: Z-motormount Lead screw nut holder Filler plates (the STL is 0.3mm thick) M4 Nut trap for tool plate Tool plate (not available at the moment) You might want to design these filler plates yourself; see picture. The original pictures of the 8M nut thingy are just informational and relate to the previous model. This design is 100% perpendicular to the plane of the motor mount and work plane thingy. WARNING !!! The tool mount also needs a change, but I haven't designed it yet. It will be a cool thingy with magnets and bolts to fix it in place. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Resolution: 0.24 and 0.1 Infill: 70% Notes: Use filament you really know how to handle; this part is right in the heart of your printer. How I Designed This I wanted a common lead screw (M8 rod for milling might be better); download original part. Created reference planes for DWG export. Used DWG to import as sketch and take measurements. Measured copper lead screw nut. Designed the part. Let you become the alpha tester; print the part myself. Added some fillets, because of the sharp edges.
