Lead Screw Holder - T-Slot Mounted
thingiverse
Designed to align the lead screw perfectly parallel with the stepper motor axis. Initially, I built a custom sleeve that snugly fits into the bearing to reduce its opening size and accommodate a standard 1/4 inch ACME screw threading. To refine this design, I will soon incorporate that piece. Furthermore, an updated model with a lower profile (approximately one-third the height) will be posted on March 17, 2016. Mounting Hardware Instructions Developed using OpenSCAD (available within this file), along with thorough commenting for seamless customization capabilities. To assemble: firmly secure this component onto 20 millimeter T-Slot Aluminum Extrusion using M5 bolts and matching square nuts designed to perfectly fit the Aluminum T-Slot slot opening. For precise alignment, height settings are set according to NEMA 17 stepper motor drive shaft positioning standards. This particular design utilizes a 608 radial skate bearing. To secure everything together tightly, an M3 bolt is attached at a certain angle for maximum tightness using a standard compression nut fit. With all this combined functionality in place, the system has been put through rigorous testing. Utilizing this precise mechanism successfully allows accurate control over lead screw alignment in line with stepper motor movement axis via high-precision NEMA 17 stepper motor movements. Print Settings For production purposes, it was found best to print these custom parts in White PLA.
