Lead screw bearing holder

Lead screw bearing holder

This is my most advanced mod yet. It completely removes the load from the motor coupler, resulting in a significantly more accurate printer and eliminating the need for a second lead screw. It consists of a high-quality 608 2Z bearing inserted into the bearing holder with an 8mm washer positioned between the bearing and the bush. The bush features two M4 grub screws (left over from construction) that securely lock the bush onto the lead screw. To install, follow these steps: The lead screw is slightly undersized, allowing the bearing to slide up and down quite easily. As a result, part of the lead screw passes through the bearing, which secures the lead screw in place. The washer and bush sit on top of the bearing, taking the load off the X axis. It's essential to re-adjust the motor coupler so there is no tension on it. It takes some time to accurately align the lead screw, but the effort pays off. Use the alignment jig to simplify the process. First, print the included alignment jig file and then align the lead screw at the motor end, nut, and bearing holder. The new 20mm test cube measures: X = 20.1 Y = 19.99 Z = 20.00 Print Settings: Printer: TEVO tarantula Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.15 Infill: 75
