Luxor Temple, Hall of Offerings, LE VIII is a remarkable east wall that forms part of the grand Hall of Offerings in Luxor Temple. This impressive wall features 4 registers, including intricate upper frieze motifs, and showcases a total of 19 captivating scenes. In 2018, renowned artist Jay Heidel from the Epigraphic Survey embarked on an ambitious project to meticulously document this wall using cutting-edge digital techniques. Two innovative models were created as part of this effort, serving as trial runs to evaluate how multiple scenes could be joined together for publication in both traditional 2D formats (books) and stunning 3D presentations. These initial models focus on the bottom two registers of the wall, which contain a total of 8 visually striking scenes. Among these, 3 have been carefully penciled, while 1 scene is at an intermediate stage of pencil work, awaiting completion. Another scene requires further pencil work before it can be advanced, and the remaining 3 have undergone both pencil and ink processes, with their content being analyzed and collated in various stages. Further developments are planned using the Sketchfab viewer API and a special texture swap code generously provided by @hairystickman.
