This work by Aristide Maillol was created in 1922 and represents a Venus seated with an olive branch in her right hand, awarding the prize to the honored French who sacrificed their lives for their country. Cast from lead, it sits majestically in the Carrousel gardens within the Tuileries near the Louvre. It is one of many of Maillol's statues on display in the open air. The model was Dina Vierny, Maillol's muse for the last ten years of his life. This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory, which aims to create a digital repository of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe, accessible to the public at no cost.
