In terms of design, this impressive temple stands as a prime example of modern architecture, characterized by its striking single-spire silhouette. Boasting a spacious interior layout, the temple features a total of four expansive ordinance rooms, supplemented by twelve meticulously designed sealing areas. At an incredible 110,000 square feet in total floor area, this awe-inspiring structure sets a new standard for contemporary temples worldwide. Marking a significant milestone in its development, this majestic temple was officially announced on May 27th, 1978. Groundbreaking and site dedication ceremonies took place on the very same day, with prominent Mormon leader Marion G. Romney leading proceedings. To allow members of the public to explore the completed structure, a four-week-long open house event kicked off on October 7th, 1980 and ran until November 8th, 1980. With an air of grandeur befitting its majesty, this exceptional temple was ultimately dedicated between November 17th and 21st, 1980 by esteemed church leader Spencer W. Kimball.
