This site encompasses a massive 6.2 acres, boasting a façade of stunning Brazilian granite known as Asa Branca. Its classic modern design is accentuated by a striking single spire that commands attention. The interior spaces offer a total floor area of 70,884 square feet and consist of four rooms for ordinance work, along with three separate rooms for sealing ceremonies. This edifice marked an important milestone on March 31, 1982, when its existence was officially announced to the public. Over thirteen years later, on August 10, 1996, a significant ceremony took place as groundbreaking and site dedication proceedings were initiated by Richard G. Scott. Following this momentous occasion, a six-day public open house event ran from June 23 through July 5 in 1999. Ultimately, it was dedicated in an impactful ceremony led by Gordon B. Hinckley on August 1-2 in the same year.
