LD 10mm Flow Rate Calibration Cube MK1

LD 10mm Flow Rate Calibration Cube MK1

This little calibration cube is perfectly designed to fine-tune your printing speed for a specific type of filament. With a wall thickness of 0.8mm all around, it allows for fast and accurate prints. Simply print the cube and measure each wall to ensure your flow rate is set correctly. Although a larger cube would be ideal for checking e-steps and X-Y axis dimensional accuracy, this smaller cube provides a quick way to verify those accuracies, which should be done once per roll of filament. Here's how to use it with a 0.4mm nozzle installed: 1) Open the file in your preferred slicing software. 2) Change your line thickness setting to 0.4mm, making each wall two lines thick. 3) Print the LD flow rate cube and let it cool completely. 4) Measure the thickness of each wall in millimeters and add up all four measurements. Then divide that sum by four. The result is your current flow rate wall thickness. 5) To calculate your new flow rate, divide 0.4mm by your current flow rate and multiply that number by 100. 6) Use this calculated value as your preferred flow rate for that filament in your slicing program.
