This experimental ventilator is a mechanical component of an innovative concept in which a manual resuscitator from emergency medical services is automatically compressed by a mechanism that can be almost entirely produced using laser cutting technology. With this design, it is possible to adjust the air volume and ventilation frequency as needed. A peep pressure can be achieved through a mechanical peep valve, while a redundant electronic function monitoring system with alarm function ensures safe operation of the machine. Some key advantages of this design include: - Can be manufactured using laser cutting techniques for short production times - Large gear ratio of 10:1 enables regular Nema 17 stepper motors to be used effectively - Uniform two-sided compression of the resuscitator eliminates twisting and ensures safety against loss of steps - High compression force provides high safety against loss of steps, making it a reliable option - Easy access to the bag at any time allows for quick removal or installation - A quick switch between manual and automated operation is possible, streamlining workflow - Only two gear wheels are required despite a large transmission ratio, thanks to the combined hoist design - The design utilizes mostly standard parts that can be sourced easily, such as 608RS skate bearings and standard metric bolts Disclaimer: This ventilator is a complex piece of equipment that requires high standards with multiple safety features.
