I'm searching for the perfect spot to position my Arduino Nano right next to the switch. I've chosen the ATmega 328P microcontroller to control my printer's lighting system, and I'm relying on it independently of the main controller, which runs on a Mega 2560. You can check out the design I used here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3086797. To access the Nano easily, I've fixed it with three M1.6 screws under the cover plate. Alternatively, you can use four screws for added stability, but I opted for fewer to reduce stress on the board. Simply unclip the side panels to reach the USB connector and upload Marlin software whenever needed. I also incorporated a Lego Laser Sword to extend the main status LED, making it visible during printer operation. This was a great way to add some flair without compromising functionality. You can find this accessory on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.de/Lichtschwert-transparent-Schwert-Figuren-Zubehör/dp/B07B8DPQ72/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536931049&sr=8-1&keywords=lego+laser+grün.
