Read the full guide on https://learn.adafruit.com/3d-printed-electronic-sunglasses/ In this week's project, we're going to create a pair of electronic sunglasses that are truly cool - you can actually control the dark tint from the glass. Between two sheets of glass, there is a layer of liquid crystal material. When voltage is applied to the electrodes, it turns dark and filters out bright light. The amount of voltage applied determines how much tint or opaqueness the glass has. This technology is known as a Liquid Crystal Light Valve (or LCD Controllable Blackout Panel) and it's mainly used in welding helmets because it can protect your eyes from really bright sparks.
