This enclosure was designed for a 3.2" LCD display, initially intended as a plug-in module for Raspberry PI. The display features an SPI interface, making it compatible with any microcontroller, including the ESP8266, which I often use for small projects. In addition to its SPI capabilities, the display also boasts three buttons and a resistive touch screen. There is ample space within the enclosure for a 18650 LIPO battery, as well as a slot for a micro USB battery charger module. Available STL files include one for the main enclosure, another for the sliding lid, and parts including a shelf that simplifies mounting the charger module. My initial application was to create a standalone train status indicator, which displays departures from a local railway station. The code for this project can be found at https://github.com/roberttidey/trainAccess For further instructions on using this enclosure, please visit https://www.instructables.com/id/UK-Train-Display/ The second version of the main box includes integrated button pushers, and the OpenScad file offers an option to toggle this feature on or off.
